Rockshox Super Deluxe Air & Vivid Coil Shocks Get More Reactive Compression Damping
That's right! Rockshox made some significant upgrades to their high-end shock absorbers, the Super Deluxe Air and Vivid Coil, for the 2025 model year. The focus is on improved compression damping, making the shocks more reactive and tunable. Here's a breakdown of the changes:
More Reactive Compression Damping:
- Both shocks benefit from updated compression damping circuits, offering increased control and finer adjustments for riders.
Super Deluxe Air:
- The key upgrade for the Super Deluxe Air is a new, higher-flow compression circuit. This requires a shim kit upgrade for existing shocks.
Additionally, Rockshox offers the DebonAir+ Linear XL air canister as an upgrade. This larger air volume provides a more coil-like feel, with better small bump sensitivity at the beginning of the travel.
Vivid Coil:
- While details are a bit scarce, the Vivid Coil also gets an updated compression damping circuit for improved performance.
Upgrade Options:
- If you already own a Super Deluxe with the RC2T external reservoir, you can get the new compression circuit and required shim kit for the upgrade.
- For those without the RC2T reservoir, Rockshox offers the RC2T Ultimate Reservoir Upgrade which is compatible with both Super Deluxe and Vivid models (air and coil).
Overall, these updates aim to make the Rockshox Super Deluxe Air and Vivid Coil shocks even more capable for technical terrain, with better small bump compliance and increased tunability for riders to dial in the perfect feel.
